Before I started my journey as an artist, I was extremely depressed. I needed a way to distract myself from “disruptive” thoughts. My psychiatrist suggested that I do something I hadn’t done since I was in secondary school: draw something. I did this, starting with people that I was talking to on the internet; then after that, I wanted to do some drawings of dogs. The more that I drew, the lighter I felt, and the less I felt the weight of my depressive feelings.
I have continued my drawing practice ever since, and it was this practice that moved me from hobbyist to draftsperson/artist.
If I want to challenge myself artistically, I have always used drawing to do just that. I started with my pet portraits, making them more and more realistic as I went along. In 2020, after a decade of drawing with graphite pencils, I decided to move into colored pencils.

I am still available to do commissions. I enjoyed at the time while I was still doing this as a hobby because of the complexity of the fur and the grass that surrounds them. This all came to a zenith point when I completed a drawing of an English Bulldog puppy called Boris which I entered into the 2016/17 Molly Morpeth Canaday Award, which I was a finalist but didn’t place.
