Microscapes

James S. Watson is known for his attention to detail. In this series of 10 drypoint intaglio prints, James has directed his gaze towards the minute worlds within our world.
Mother Nature possesses the ability to create abstractions that even the most astute artist struggles to create organically.

Microscapes provided James with the chance to walk through our world and observe gestures and patterns often overlooked by others. Each drypoint serves as an example of experimentation, mark-making, play, and a desire to reproduce these images with the same meticulous detail that nature put into them.

Exhibition held at Studio One Toi Tū, 27th September 2023 to 26th October 2023.

Prints are still available. Framed prints of all but Untitled Texture 9 are available for $120 otherwise an unframed print is $50.
